System Requirements
To participate in IBDE, students must have a computer that meets the following requirements:
Windows Systems:
- AMD or Intel processor with CPU speed of 2.0 GHz or more
- Windows 7 with Service Pack 1, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10 with 32-bit or 64-bit processor
- 2 GB of RAM minimum (8 GB recommended)
Note on RAM: Less RAM will result in students experiencing increased frustration levels due to longer load times and the inability to have numerous programs and software running concurrently especially with regard to any graphics editing programs.
- 11 GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on removable flash storage devices)
- Video display as follows:
- Minimum screen resolution of 1280x800 with qualified hardware-accelerated OpenGL graphics card, 16-bit colour, and 512 MB of VRAM
- Some GPU-accelerated features require graphics support for Shader Model 3.0 and OpenGL 2.0
- DVD-ROM drive
- Java Runtime Environment, QuickTime software, and Adobe Flash Player software
- Headset with microphone to participate in LIVE classroom sessions
- Internet connection: high speed or cable connection
(On dial up? Please contact us.) Dial-up connections will result in difficulty participating in the LIVE IBDE classroom sessions in GoToTraining as well as receiving online remote assistance from instructors and downloading various programs and zip files.
Mac Systems:
- Multicore Intel processor with 64-bit support
- Mac OS X v10.9, 10.10, 10.11
(Please note – 32-bit Mac systems and older versions of Mac OS X will not support the 2015 version of Adobe Creative Cloud. Students will therefore need to use an older version of the software. This means there may be differences in the interface from what the instructor demonstrates.) - 2 GB of RAM or more recommended
